Sailing in Massachusetts

Like any good New Englander, we here at Captain Ace love a good local sail.  With so many great spots to visit from Maine to New Hampshire to Massachusetts, we thought we would provide a list of all of our favorite spots to sail in New England, starting with sailing in Massachusetts:

1.) Boston Harbor:

No list of sailing hot spots in Massachusetts would be complete without the Boston Harbor.  With great food, incredible historic sites and relatively calm waters, the Boston Harbor is a great spot for those who are less experienced or just simply looking for a relaxing day on the water.  Be sure to use the Boston Boat Marina when docking to explore the city.  With reasonable prices, friendly staff and a great location, you cant find a better spot to park your boat for the day.

2.) Nantucket:

Another must see in Massachusetts is the always beautiful Nantucket.  With a strong sailing community and fantastic site seeing, when it comes to sailing in Massachusetts, Nantucket is the cream of the crop.  If you are looking to shake off those sea-legs, docking at the Nantucket Boat Basin is the spot to use.   With reccomendations on restuarants and local spots to visit, the Nantucket Boat Basin will guide you in the right direction.

3.) Cape Cod:

They don't call Cape Cod the Jewel of New England for no reason.  With world-famous beaches and unique sites, Cape Cod is an obvious choice for sailing in Massachusetts.  If you are looking for some excitement and the opportunity to get a little competitive, the 45th Annual Figawi Race Weekend is for you.  Hosted every spring, Figawi kicks off in Hyannis MA and ends in Nantucket.  You'll be accompained by some 250+ boats and 3,000 sailors from all over the country.

Be sure to keep your eyes out for future posts around sailing in New Hamphsire and Maine, but in the meantime, have fun sailing in Massachusetts!
